Extract audio from video online
A video file carries a separate audio track alongside the picture. Converting video to MP3 means pulling that track out and re-encoding it, so you end up with a small audio file that plays anywhere — car stereos, phones, MP3 players, podcast apps.
Typical reasons: keeping the sound from a lecture or interview, saving a song from a recorded performance, turning a talk into something you can listen to while driving, or cutting a 200MB video down to a few megabytes of audio.
Supported input
MP4, MKV, MOV, M4V, AVI, WebM, WMV, FLV and 3GP, up to 100MB per file. If your video is larger, trim it first in a video editor and upload the part you need.
What to expect
The audio in a video is already compressed, so converting it to MP3 re-compresses it once. For speech that difference is inaudible; for music it is minor. Nothing can recover detail that the original video encoder discarded, so a clip that sounds muffled on screen will sound muffled as an MP3.
Want a specific bitrate, or a smaller file? Run the result through Compress Audio. Want to keep only part of it? Use the Audio Cutter. Need a title and artist on the file? The tag editor handles that.
Frequently asked questions
Can I paste a YouTube link?
No. This tool works on video files already on your device. There is no URL input.
Do I need to install anything?
No. A modern browser is enough. The conversion runs on the server after you upload.
Will my file stay on the server?
No. Uploads and results are deleted automatically 15 minutes after the job is created.
Is there a watermark or a limit on conversions?
Neither. There is no account, no watermark, and no cap on how many files you convert.
